First day of school!

Well...first day of Mother's Day Out.  Hannah is signed up for Mother's Day Out on Tuesdays this year.  Tom asked me what I had planned for my day.  I was stumped...I didn't know what to do without baby girl Hannah.  I told him that I had some plans but it would be kinda weird without having Hannah.  As I walked back out to the car from dropping her off in her classroom, I had the same empty, unknown feeling.  I started the car up, blasted the radio, and sang as loud as I possibly could.  Then met 2 friends at Starbucks for starters.  I no longer have those thoughts.  I have since realized that I can find something to do.

She gets little report cards of what she's done all day long (ie. what she ate, if she napped, wet or dirty diapers, disposition, etc.).  Hannah's report card read "2 wet diapers and no poopy; she at all her sandwich and a bit of her fruit and no veggies; and took a 30 minute nap from 12 to 12:30."  Under disposition it was blank.  I'm assuming it's because there were no problems and her disposition was as expected...content.

We were asked to fill out an information sheet on our baby, it asked us to describe them.  I found this funny because how do you really describe your own child.  Of course you think they're precious no matter what happens anyway AND the teachers are going to make up their own minds about your child regardless of what you say.  Anyway, I wrote "happy, content, funny, loving, calm and easy-going (she gets that from her father).  And a bonus was that her 11th month birthday was today, so she turned 11 months old AND started school at the same time!

First day of school was a success!  Here are some cute pics to prove it!

(as you can see, there is room to grown into the small backpack)

Hannah loves her new backpack and matching lunchbox.  I get kinda teary when I think of Daddy, Mommy, and Hannah walking hand in hand to school on her first day of kindergarten with her lavender backpack on with matching lunchbox inside.  I still remember my first day of kindergarten, Dad and Mom walked hand in hand with me.  I love that we live 2 blocks away from her elementary school.  I love our neighborhood.  I love how Hannah will meet Madeline at the corner and walk the rest of the way to school to meet Brooke, who has come from the other side of the creek, so they can all walk together to be greeted by their other cute friends.  I love to think about how all the other mommies will meet at the corner to chat afterwords.  These are the things you dream about for your babies.  Oh my gosh...I'm a mom AND my daughter is almost ONE!!!!!  What have we gotten ourselves into?!  Before we know it, she will be starting kindergarten.  I digress...

Also...I had clients tonight so Daddy captured a cute pic of her walking around with one hand on her walker and the other holding her sunglasses.  Apparently this was happening all night long before bed.  Tom says she was obsessed with her sunglasses and wouldn't put them down.
