The Scare

Last week, I had a scare.  I thought I was having cotractions but after going to my ob/gyn we found out they were only severe muscle cramps.  It was VERY scary!  I was supposed to be babysitting Madeline but when Candice saw what kind of shape I was in, she was forced to skip class.  Candice started to read off signs of labor and I had almost all of them.  Do you feel like you have to go to the bathroom but can't?  Yes.  Do you feel tightening of the belly?  Yes.  Do you feel cramps in your back?  Yes.  Etc.  An hour later, me, Candice, and Maddie were sitting in the doctors office.  They took a urine sample and checked blood pressure.  I had blood in my urine and my blood pressure was raised.  The nurse assured me that it was probably because I was freaked out.  They checked to see if I was dialated and a swab test (some fetal test that shows if I am going into labor).  I was not dialated but I had to wait 3 agonizing hours to hear the results of the swab.  Candice and Maddie helped pass the time...they were wonderful!  The results were negative!  The blood in the urine, they suspect, was my urethra becoming aggitated.  I went for my usual ob/gyn monthly appointment 5 days later and there was no blood in my urine.  I was soar from the cramps for a couple of days but am AOK now.  No problems anymore.  Just a big scare!
